Regimental Colors
The flags of some regiments, particularly the cuirassier regiments, were in a bad state by 1860, having been issued in 1807 or 1815.
Those marked as obliterated were totally destroyed. those as tattered were 50% missing and that marked ragged was less than 50% missing.
Type 2 center field and corner wreath field appears at one time to have been red, but since their issue in 1815 had faded to an orange.
Dragoon regiment 3 may have carried a swallow tailed guidon.
Approximate sized 50 - 60 cm square.

Plate 1
This is the flag of the 85 Honved (infantry) Battalion. While most flags did not have writing on the flag, but on staff ribbons, some like this one did have the unit name.
Plate 2
This flag was carried by General Gorgei as well as by at least one Hussar regiment. It was made of painted silk. The while of the standard looks silver in the photo of it, which may be just the light on the silk.
Plate 3
This is the official design for the Infantry battle flag. It was painted on silk with the Madona and Child on one side.
Plate 4
This flag was carried by the Torda National Guard cavalry sideways as shown at the top. Later the 15th King Mathias Hussars and the 11th Szekely Grenz carried the same flag design right side up.
Plate 5
This is a typical cavalry flag carried by one of the 18 Hussar Regiments that fought for the Hungarian cause.
Plate 6
Another example of the Crown design
Plate 7
This was a common design after the Hungarians declared their independence from the King--The Austrian Emperor. Early flags had a crown for the Kingdom which has been removed.
